Myofascial Release sessions are private and one-on-one with the therapist. All Myofascial Release patients are first scheduled for an initial evaluation, this initial evaluation can vary between 1.5 to 2 hours. This myofascial release evaluation includes a review of the patient’s history (personal and medical), a postural and/or gait assessment, a review of the patient’s therapy goals and an explanation of evaluation findings and plan of care.
Plan of care will include suggestions for the frequency of future appointments. After the initial evaluation sessions typically last an hour, but in cases where a patient has a chronic condition and/or multiple areas to work on, a longer session will be recommended.

Clothing During Myofascial Release Treatments
In order to fully benefit from myofascial release techniques, most therapy sessions are done using skin-on-skin contact . For this reason therapy patients are recommended to wear the following:
Stretchy, loose shorts or boxers. We recommend no tops or t-shirts since clothing can get in the way of treatment.
Stretchy shorts and a bra or sports bra. Many women are comfortable being treated in their under garments.
Therapy patients are always encouraged to wear what they feel most comfortable in. It is recommended that patients avoid wearing body lotion, creams or oils on days of treatment. Dry, clean skin is best to ensure the patient receives effective care. Some conditions may require intra-oral techniques; they are techniques performed in the patient’s oral cavity. No treatment is ever done without the patient’s full consent and trust.
