Untangle your Tightness & Melt Away Your Pain

You and I know that old-fashioned medicine has a missing link. It tends to focus only on your body and overlooks the intricate connection between your body, mind and spirit – often leaving you with only a short term fix.

What if there was a different way? One where you take an active role in your own healing with a holistic whole-body approach and tender support of a highly trained myofascial physical therapy professional so that you are set free from pain, physical restrictions and past trauma?

That wholistic and lasting solution is Myofascial Release Therapy!

Are you tired of being in pain? Does your pain rule what you can or can’t do? Are ready to live your life IN FULL!

You’ve faithfully followed your doctor’s advice – taken every medication that has been prescribed and done all the recommended tests and treatments including chiropractors, acupuncturists, and explored surgery. BUT… you are still in pain. And even worse … the pain is now ruling what you can or can’t do.

Are you ready to try something else? Myofascial Release Therapy has been around since the 1960s and has shown great success in helping patients identify and treat trigger points that in many cases are the cause of chronic pain. Patients who have sought pain treatment from medical doctors and holistic practitioners find relief very quickly.

When you’ve looked for so many treatment options for chronic pain, but:

    • NOBODY seems to know what is wrong with you or is able to help for good.
    • Countless medical professionals can’t find the source of pain nor provide any help.
    • All soft tissue tests came back normal but the pain does not get better.
    • You stretch on a regular basis, but the stiffness does not go away.
    • Other treatments have provided temporary pain relief, but no lasting results.

What you dream of is a health provider that understands you, nurtures you and gives you back control of your life. A pain-free life of freedom and joy. This is possible with myofascial release physical therapy.

INTRODUCING Myofascial Release Therapy!

As an expert-level Myofascial Release Practitioner, I blend my caring nature and intuitive listening to your whole body WITH my expertise as a Physical Therapist of 22 years trained in Myofascial Release to help you relieve your stiffness and pain.

I help you recover the elasticity and fluidity of your body tissues so that you feel better, move better and live better.

The Benefits of Myofascial Release Therapy

Did you know recent research has shown we store physical and emotional trauma in our tissues more specifically in our fascia? The trauma in our tissues can lead to physical pain and cause illnesses, including cancer? It is my mission to change that with the whole-bodied holistic approach of Myofascial Release treatment therapy. This type of holistic therapy can set you free from physical and emotional trauma while also preventing serious health complications in your future.

Move Freely Without Pain

Restrictions in your soft tissues limit your normal movement, creating holding patterns that overwork your joints and muscle and put extra pressure on your nerves – all of this results in pain that might become chronic . Myofascial Release Therapy releases soft tissue restrictions, preventing or correcting abnormal patterns freeing your joints and muscles from extra work, relieving inflammatory processes and nerve irritation.

Athletes Improve Results

Your athletic performance increases while your achiness and stiffness decrease. Myofascial Release Physical Therapy melts away the tightness, which allows more efficient and smoother movement. This decreases excess energy expenditure and tissue waste or irritation from working under tension.

True Healing In An Organic And Quicker Way.

The John Barnes Myofascial Release approach facilitates true healing by releasing past physical and emotional trauma from our tissues. By holding gentle pressure over the fascial structures, I stimulate and facilitate the Interleukins production process known to initiate the natural body healing response.

“Based on my spreadsheet, my legs have been hurting for a little longer than a year. After my session with you today my hip no longer hurts! I am so happy, I could cry.”

Myofascial Release Practitioner

Hi! I’m Carolina Gutierrez (Karolena)

As an expert level Myofascial Release Therapist, I work with people in pain who have been to many medical professionals and holistic practitioners with little to no relief from their pain.

I help you live a pain-free life with the freedom to live and move as you please.

During my career I have been fortunate to help people from all ages to overcome pain and stiffness of varying degrees as well as assist them in their personal journey to reach true healing.

Some of them were looking to improve their results at the gym or their sports performance. Some wanted to be able to function during a normal day without chronic pain. Others wanted to take back their life… and free themselves from the pain that was getting in the way of doing simple daily life tasks.

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to heal people. Both my parents were doctors, so as a kid I was immersed in the world of medicine.

But I noticed a glaring problem – traditional medicine often had its limitations in providing REAL and lasting solutions. And the traditional route of becoming a doctor meant being overworked and giving up your personal life and family time. Well, that wasn’t the vision for my life. I knew there must be another way.  Read about my international journey to finding my passion and becoming an expert-level Myofascial Release Therapist.

“My shoulder is pain free and is going over my head, the range is not complete yet, but I almost could not believe it… after the doctor telling me my only option was surgery, and you got me here after only one session, looking forward to our next visit”

Myriam L.

“Carolina you got me back into alignment! The doctor could not believe it.  It was 100% better. You are an angel for me!!! I just thought you should know.”

ATMOSPHERE: All Myofascial release sessions are private, one-on-one with me. My Physical therapy treatments take place in an atmosphere similar to what you may have experienced at a massage therapy session.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE TECHNIQUE: I will apply gentle sustained pressure into areas of trigger points, tightness, restriction, or pain and wait for your body to release them. Slight pressure, never forceful, will be applied to gently reach the barrier of the tissue restriction. This application of pressure may last 5 minutes or longer in the same area to allow time for actual release and to ensure that the tissue has actually released and not given false positive. In addition this time allows for the body’s natural healing process to begin. Some conditions may require intra-oral techniques; they are techniques performed in the patient’s oral cavity. No treatment is ever done without the patient’s full consent and trust.
Woman Patient Being Treated Myofasical Release

PREPARATION: It is recommended that patients avoid wearing body lotion, creams or oils on days of treatment. Myofascial release can ONLY be performed on dry skin. Using oils or creams means the therapist is sliding on your skin and therefore unable to maintain the pressure that releases and melt restrictions.

CLOTHING: You are encouraged to wear what you feel most comfortable in.

Women: Stretchy shorts and a bra or sports bra. Many women are comfortable being treated in their under garments.

Man receiving myofascial release treatmentMen: Stretchy, loose shorts or boxers. We recommend no tops or t-shirts since clothing can get in the way of treatment.

Initial Evaluation & Treatment: All new Patients are scheduled for an Initial Evaluation & Treatment. The initial visit may last up to 2 hours.

  • Evaluation: The first part of this first visit will include reviewing your medical and personal history, performing a posture, gait, movement patterns/restrictions, and/or strength assessment, and going over your goals for therapy.
  • Treatment: During the second half of the session I will initiate Myofascial Treatment.

Once the initial evaluation and treatment are complete, I will be able to create a plan of treatment and guide you on how to schedule future appointments. The frequency and length of treatment sessions will depend on various factors, all the while, taking into consideration your resources and what you can commit to.

I will work together with you to offer recommendations on scheduling, but ultimately you are in full control of the course of your myofascial release physical therapy.

  • Initial Evaluation & Treatment – $250
  • 1-hour sessions – $125
  • 1.5 hour sessions – $187.50
  • 2-hour sessions -$ 250

Intensive treatment packages are available. Ask if interested

In cases where a patient has a chronic condition and/or multiple areas to work on, a longer session will offer extra time to address and treat the areas involved.

  • Accepted Payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, checks and cash.
  • Payments are made at the time of service.
  • Fees for debit and credit cards may apply.

“Carolina Gutierrez, you are by far the best physical therapist I have ever had. I’ve been in and out of physical therapy for 30 years. I’ve been suffering with Fibromyalgia and Degenerative Disc Disease since the 80’s.  I went to Carolina for P.T. after a two level ACF Fusion. Not only have you made tremendous improvements on my neck and pain. You are also helping me with myofascial pain across the board. You are very kind and really care about your patients as well as your work. I will continue seeing you as much as I can.”
